Among 1 million population of District Jhelum, 31.48 percent are urban dwellers. TMF is going to realize the dream of hundred percent literacy rate in Tehsil Pind Dadan Khan (P.D. Khan). Due to inception of TMF schools in Tehsil, the literacy rate has reached to 50 percent.


TMF established Community Primary Schools in main towns of P.D. Khan, like Khewra, Lilla and Dharyala Jalip. 

  • 1996__59 Community Primary Schools

  • 1999__90 Community Primary Schools

  • 1999__Vocational Training Centers were established where professional skills have been imparted to 900 women

  • 2000__for the first time students appeared in primary examination, conducted by Ministry of Education and showed 100 percent results

  • 2002__30 Literacy Centers were initiated through Adult Literacy Program, over 3000 individuals have been enabled to read and write 

  • 2003__total strength of these schools reached at 120  

  • 2007__ more than 4000 students are enrolled in these schools and above 1500 have completed their Primary Education from these schools, showing cumulative result of 80 percent  

  • By the start of 2008, National Education Foundation, Ministry of Education announced the limit of 50 schools per district, so conforming to the mandatory requirement; TMF is currently managing 50 Non-Formal Basic Education Program.
