Manzoor Hussain, General Manager at
Koh-e-Noor Soaps and Detergents joined hands with
TMF to educate the people of slum areas of Karachi.
• The schools that have been working since 2001 as
TM Community Schools of Gulshan-e-Zia, Ghaziabad
and Rehmat Chowk areas were upgraded to
formal schools in 2003.
Established in early 1970s, Orangi became famous in
1980s as the largest squatter settlement in Karachi
at the time. The population mostly comprises of
Blue-collar workers.
• TM School Ghaziabad, Orangi Town provides
education up to 7th grade.
• At present there are 14 teachers and 174 students
getting education from the school.
• Among these students 43 are having half or full
fee waivers.
• TM School Rehmat Chowk, Orangi Town,
equipped with computer laboratory.
• 95 students are getting education from 10
teachers.
• Mian Muhammad Yousaf TM School Gulshan-e-Zia
has 99 boys and 84 girls that are being taught by 17
teachers.
• There are five primary schools that have been
added to educational network of TMF in Karachi
District from year 2004 to 2007. Collectively there
are 169 girls and boys getting education from these
schools.
