Nestled high in the mountains, the District of
Mansehra is renowned for its landscape and scenic
beauty. The district is located at the eastern
border of NWFP. The literacy rate of district
Mansehra is 36.3 percent; for males in rural
Mansehra district is 61 percent and for females it
is 31 percent.
Shinkiari is a town in Mansehra District, located
25km north of Mansehra city on the Karakoram
Highway.
• In 2002 TMF established TM Hazara Public School
Shinkiari.
• The students were accommodated in make-shift
classrooms after 8 October disaster with generous
assistance from The Maria-Helena Foundation.
• In 2007 Rotary International has resolved
to donate for developing Boys Branch for school
through its Rotarian Disaster Relief Fund.
• Today's TM Hazara Public School covers the area of
3.5 kanal.
• The school has 28 classrooms and well equipped
science and computer laboratories and a library. The
school is providing education up to matric level.
• The school has 53 teachers and 541 students
currently enrolled, out of which 72 are getting free
education and 469 have concession in their fee.
