It is surely a difficult task to establish schools
in far flung northern areas where there is scarcity
of basic amenities of life. Despite these beauties,
the severe weather conditions, land sliding, poor
communication infrastructure and cultural
differences are hurdles in the way of literacy.
• In 1993 TMF established TM Model School Skardu.
It is located in the central area of Jinnah Town and
soon got affiliated with Federal Board of
Intermediate and Secondary Education.
• Equipped with Computer Training Centre, it very
rapidly made a prominent place among the other
famous schools in the region.
• In 1998, 19 community schools in Baltistan were
established in collaboration with National
Education Foundation which were upgraded as
Secondary schools in 2005. Marafie Foundation
has assisted TMF in providing suitable buildings to
some of these schools.
