
Fateh Jang, Oct. 28, 2008: “Involvement of community people for health education is an ideal methodology for refurnishing their lives to make them an active member of society.” These views were shared by Dr. Riaz-ul- Haq, Deputy Director Training, Red Crescent Society, Pakistan who was the chief guest of Primary Health Curriculum Launching Ceremony that was arranged by TM School Health System (TMSHS). Tameer-e-Millat Foundation (TMF) established TM School Health System in late 2007 in Tameer-e-Millat City of Education (TMCE), Fatehjang (Attock). TMF’s long time friend and donor, Mrs. Fakhra Bajwa from California, USA was the guest of honor. She is sponsoring not only this project but is rendering her whole hearted efforts in various other projects. Our special guest, Farida Himat Khan, Acting Director Shifa College of Nursing and TMF officials and the teaching staff of TMCE were also present at the ceremony.
Muhammad Ishtiaq, School Health Nurse gave a detailed presentation of the achieved objectives and achievements of TMSHS in the shorter span of time. Curriculum Book that was prepared by TMSHS was handed over to the principals of Tameer-e-Jannat Science School and Tameer-e-Millat Model School. Certificates were distributed among thirteen health educators who were given training of Health Curriculum teaching methodologies and strategies in August this year. These health educators will take the classes to implement the health curriculum up to primary level. TMF is committed to initiate the School Health System in its entire educational network to improve the living standards of students, teachers and administrative staff. In December 2008, Secondary Health Curriculum will also be launched.
