Developing Basic Health Care Facility
at Tameer-e-Millat City of Education
Health Services
This component deals with the provision of health
services at school level. Health services consist of
treatment for minor problems, periodic screening,
and referral of complicated and emergency cases.
Treatment
There is a basic health unit in TMCE where the
provision of basic medicines and treatment services
is available. School health unit is performing the
following functions;
-
Monitoring of age appropriate developmental
milestones,
-
Provision of basic first aid and treatment
services,
-
Temporary stay or day care services (sick
patients stay for few hours in health unit for
continuous observation or pre-hospital care)
-
Maintenance of students health record
Screening
School-based screening for health problems is an
important component of a school health program. By
detecting previously unrecognized conditions or
preclinical illnesses as early as possible,
school-based screening enables timely intervention
and remediation, which can limit potential
disability, medical costs, and negative impact on
school performance. TMSHS organize screening once a
year in collaboration of Shifa College of Nursing.
Referral
As there is not enough facility available at school
healthy unit level to treat the complicated and
severely injured cases so TMSHS refer such cases to
secondary level health care facility like THQ
Hospital, Fateh Jang and Shifa International
Hospitals Limited, Islamabad.
Ambulance Services
TMSHS has its own Ambulance donated by Rotary Club
of Pakistan to transport emergency and complicated
cases. TMF thanks Mr. Shakil Hasan Ansari of RC
Islamabad Cosmopolitan and President of Madera
Sunrise RC, Dr. Afzal Arain for their dedicated
efforts to disburse this donation. |
