Tameer e Jannat Science School    

The morning of 8 October 2005 was no less than doomsday for Pakistan when devastating subsequent tremors shook entire communities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and parts of NWFP and left many homeless. Hundreds of causalities were reported in North Muzzafarabad, Kashmir and Hazara division. Many buildings and houses collapsed in the cities and rural areas. The massive calamity killed about 80,000 people, leaving 3,500,000 homeless. Most of students were attending schools when the earthquake struck. In a report, some 8000 schools were demolished completely, leaving many students buried under rubble.

 



TMF was among pioneers for taking steps for rehabilitation, accommodation and education of earthquake affected poor orphan children. Tameer-e-Jannat Science School was established for the affected children of quake-hit areas. Mr. Zafar Iqbal Zafar, former principal of the very first school of TMF at Khewra, was given responsibility of this school.

Tameer-e-Jannat Science School has also inducted orphan and poor children of Tribal areas of N.W.F.P. and FATA that were affected from current situation in Swat, Malakand, Dir and Waziristan. Most of these schools are sponsored by contributors from Pakistan, USA and Other countries. More than 50 students have been graduated in last three years and few of them are studying at Tameer-e-Millat Institute of Technology.Being a complete educational and residential facility, the school hostel block consists of 34 rooms with allied facilities of dining, messing, laundry, etc.,provides quality education opportunities to children affected from natural disasters.
